Marriage
If you want a real American wedding and be legally married
on Guam it can be arranged within just a few days notice.
Couples can make the arrangements themselves or better
to have one of Guam's Wedding Service companies make the
arrangements.
A notarised affidavit is required to be submitted by
both parties to waive the mandatory five-day waiting
period. Applicants must fill out a marriage application
form at the Government of Guam's General Licensing and
Registration Branch of the Department of Revenue and
Taxation and submit it together with their birth certificate,
passport and other relevant documents.
The marriage ceremony can be performed by any of the
following:
- Governor of Guam or his substitute
- Judges of the Island Court or Superior Court
- Ordained clergyman or priest
- Director or Deputy Director of Administration
- Speaker of the Guam Legislature or his designee
Once the marriage ceremony has been performed, celebrants
can take their documents to the Office of Vital Statistics
to obtain their marriage certificate.
